The Lead Country Coordinators’ Group (LCCG)
The Lead Country Coordinators’ Group was established to facilitate the implementation and follow-up of the actions and activities under every thematic area of the OIC Strategic Health Programme of Action 2014-2023. Each working group includes interested OIC member countries and relevant OIC institutions and one-member country is considered as the Lead Country Coordinator. The Lead Country Coordinators’ Group (LCCG) meets in principle at least once a year. If there is need, the OIC General Secretariat can convene an extra-ordinary meeting of the LCCG.
The composition of the LCCG for the period of 2019-2021 is as follows: Türkiye, Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sudan, OIC General Secretariat, COMSTECH, SESRIC, IDB and ICESCO.
The thematic areas of the OIC Strategic Health Programme of Action (OIC-SHPA) 2014-2023 and the elected OIC Member States to lead the thematic areas are as follows:
I. Health System Strengthening – Republic of Türkiye |
II. Disease Prevention and Control – Arab Republic of Egypt |
III. Maternal, New-born and Child Health and Nutrition – Malaysia |
IV. Medicines, Vaccines and Medical Technologies – Republic of Indonesia |
V. Emergency Health Response and Interventions – Republic of the Sudan |
VI. Information, Research, Education and Advocacy – None |
