Occupational Safety and Health Capacity Building Programme (OSH-CaB)

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is concerned with the safety, health and welfare of employees in the workplace. The primary focus of OSH is on the prevention of hazards. Hazard control and prevention strategies have been on the agenda of many developing countries during the past half century to assure healthful workplace conditions and security for every working person. Accordingly, training activities on occupational safety and health are fundamental elements in reducing occupational risk of injury and disease.

In this regard, SESRIC initiated the Occupational Safety and Health Capacity Building Programme (OSH-CaB) in 2010 to support the efforts of the OIC Member States in improving workplace safety and health. Within this framework, the Centre organises capacity building activities by using different modalities such as short-term training courses, training workshops and study visits according to the needs and capacities of OSH institutions in the OIC Member States.
