In line with Oman Vision 2040 aimed at fostering the ministerial services provided by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and to achieve a pioneer decentralized health system, MOH, represented by the Directorate General of Quality Assurance Center (DGQAC) has gained in 2020 the international recognition of ISO 9001/ 2015 by the International Organization for Standardization for a number of its Directorates.

Implementation of the project took nearly two years comprising many challenges in transformational stages at the end of 2018. The project started with gap analysis, measuring the directorates with standards, and then moving to the documentation of processes (quality document), internal audit, management review, and final audit to gain the international certificate.
