The Ministry of Public Health of Sultanate of Oman organized a Training workshop for Early Detection of Cervical Cancer

The Department of Women and Child Health in cooperation with the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department & the Laboratory Department at the Royal Hospital along with the United Nations Population Fund organized on 6/6/2023 the second training workshop on early detection of cervical cancer at the National Genetic Center.

Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers among women globally, regionally, and locally.

The training workshop comes in preparation for the implementation of the national study to measure the "prevalence rate and genotypes of human papillomavirus (HPV) among Omani women", as the human papillomavirus (HPV) is the main cause of cervical cancer.
