Saudi Ministry of Health Launched an Awareness Campaign on Illegal Caesarean Sections & Premature Birth

Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia has
launched an awareness campaign about violating caesarean sections and preterm
birth, which will last until August 19, 2023, targeting maternity departments
in private health institutions.
The Ministry stated that among the most
prominent violations are the absence of rooms equipped for normal childbirth,
absence of a special hospitalization department for childbirth, absence of a
neonatal consultant, exceeding of the percentage of caesarean sections without
a scientific reason, and increase in the practice of artificial labor without a
real medical justification, in addition to transcend specialization (The doctor
is not qualified "specialist-consultant") to perform a caesarean
section.
