Omani Higher Institute of Health Specialties Organized Stroke Awareness Day

The Higher Institute of Health Specialties
represented by Adult Critical Care Program batch (2022/2023) organized a
scientific day on stroke awareness. The event was held under the auspices of
His Excellency Hilal Hamad Al Sarmi, Chairman of the Health and Environmental
Committee of Shura Council and representative of Seeb, with the presence of Dr.
Manal Abdul Majeed Al Zadjali, Dean of the Higher Institute for Health
Specialties. A number of the Institute’s academic and teaching staff,
employees, students, and group of community members attended the event.
The event highlighted the theme "Minutes
can save Lives, Mobility, and Memories ... Be F.A.S.T", marking symptoms
of stroke. The event was accompanied by an awareness exhibition of several
stations including an overview of stroke, signs and symptoms of stroke, medical
and surgical management, complications, post-stroke rehabilitation
(physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy), and prevention of stroke
corner. The exhibition further included entertainment stations for adults and
children.
