Ministry of Health of Uganda Launches Zero Malaria Business Leadership Initiative
The Ministry of Health of Uganda, with support from partners,
has launched the Zero Malaria Businesses Leadership Initiative. Malaria is
still the leading cause of Mortality and Morbidity in Sub-Saharan Africa though
it is a preventable and treatable disease that is caused by parasites
transmitted to people by the bites of an infected female anopheles’ mosquitos. The main objectives of the launch were; to promote domestic
resource mobilization for sustainable funding of malaria control and
elimination, to mobilize businesses leaders for malaria control and
elimination, to leverage Eco bank’s clients and partners to bring new
resources. Malaria is a leading cause of ill health in Uganda; it
contributes to 30% of outpatients' visits, 20% of hospital admissions, 10% of
deaths and costs families 9 per episode of malaria. For further information, please visit: https://www.health.go.ug/2022/03/31/ministry-of-health-launches-zero-malaria-bussiness-leadership-initiative/ |
